(this is 4 my other half),he understands what the saying means but he thinks it makes no sense iv tries explaining but cannot find the rite words can any one do better?

Some people are better of if they have no brains because they would ask the questions that make others crazy. Maybe he wants to say this but fails to find the right words or he is simply afraid of you! LOL.

my husband often uses this phrase to me, and what it means is that if i had actually used my brain rather than did things without thinking i would be brainier than him( i am anyway, i just let him think otherwise, it gets better results) Men seem to like being the only one who can think out a problem and work it out satisfactory. Well i have my own saying.... My husband is the head of our house, but i am the neck and i can turn the head any way i want.

Ever seen the Bond film Moonraker? Jaws was a tough piece of work, but he was essentially just a thug. Drax, on the otherhand, was not physically large like Jaws, but was much more dangerous because of his vast intelligence.
Does that make sense?

To be dangerous you need to think things through, which takes brains and you don't think he has any.
Be careful - brainless idiots can be just as dangerous.

Tell him if brains were dynamite he wouldn't have enough to blow his cap off.
If that fails give up and tell him you don't feel right getting into a battle of wits with an unarmed opponent.

It means, you are, thick/docile/ not clever enough, to think of, and put into action anything dangerous. Which is just as well, because you would be a clever, but dangerous idiot.

yes this has to do with intelligence, basically its saying to someone that they are a thug coz if they had the brains to go with the brawn they would be dangerous with it, hope this explanation helps.
