I don't watch the show but have seen and read enough to know the general gist of the recent bru-haa-haa. Ok, so do you think the makers of BB, the suits that choose who enters the house, planned all this? It wouldn't be rocket science would it. A-list Bollywood star, diva, beautiful, way way in a different league to Jade, Jo & co., guaranteed to rile the z-lists and . . . just to make it really interesting, let's make her Indian . . . what d'you think?

Also, if the housemates don't know what's going on in the outside world, was it just coincidence that Shilpa said she retracted the accusation that the others were being racist?

They probably knew that dissagreement between the beauty and the beast would occurr, but nothing to this scale or that it would get so exaggeratted and out of hand by the media. In my opinion, it is not racism at all, i just think that the class division between the two groups is very large, lets face it, when do you see chavs willingly socialising with private school sloanies??? Plus the conditions in the house are so different to the outside world as there is no escape, so arguements over the slightest thing i.e stock cubes can spiral out of control!
i dont think that channel 4 intended this to happen though , but they are always going to (and have done in evry other bb) to place the most controversial people in the house.
anyhoot, the eviction is on 2nite, so hu knows what will happen!!

with all the news and media scrutiny, i would not be shocked if the producers informed the housemates what was going on in the world and maybe asked her to retract her statement and got the arrogant kid to play happy families.
at the end of the day, the arrogant kids full character has been displayed, there is no going back from here. best thing she needs an attitude adjustment. what a shame.

I think you're probably right. This morning they decided to cancel the audience for the eviction in case Jade was attacked. Interesting as the phone lines for voting don't close till tonight!
They edit the show to suit there own purpose too, only showing the bits that get the ratings up.

When I saw the question I thought that your suggestion was a bit far-fetched but now I think about it I have an uncomfortable feeling that you might be right. That is, the TV channel involved is very manipulative - but that is an accusation that can be levelled at much of the media.

Sounds about right, the whole thing seems staged to cause the maximum amount of controversy and publicity, I feel sorry for the dumb participants for being made fools of.
