Neither -- They do the job you refuse to do. And they have to put up with disrespectful morons who have no concept of what the purpose of the law is, on a daily basis. Probably people just like you.
Regular ol' cops are doing the same things regular ol' troops are doing in Iraq and Afghanistan today. Spend 24 hours in their shoes before you go climbing on your soap box and show your lack of knowledge.

Power corrupts. Law Enforcement is a needed evil. But there will always be cops who go over the top. All we can do is ensure there are enough checks in the system
