Since you don't list the year model will asume its a 4 cylinder GT model

All 4 cylinder GT's have the 2.4 DOHC engine's ((based on ther Old's GM Quad 4)) And its says it on the engine Cover.

2.2 or 2200 are for the SE only...

sunfires could have either a 2.2l pushrod engine, a 2.4l Quad 4 dual overhead cam engine, or a 2.2l ecotech dual overhead cam engine. the quad 4 says quad four really big on top of the engine cover, very hard to miss. the ecotech engine says ecotech on the coil cover, centered on top of the engine. if you dont see either of those you dont have an overhead cam engine. just a crappy 2.2l, they last long but not very powerful

Call the dealer and ask. Or you could pull the valve cover and look. If you see a camshaft, you have overhead cam.

it's just the normal GM 4 banger, so yea, it's a overhead cam.
