I live in Indianapolis and the best two <$50/plate restaraunts in town in my opinion are The Rathskellar at New Jersey and Michigan and Iaria's on South College. Rathskellar is a German place with great steaks and beer selection. I actually had my wedding reception there. Iaria's is an Italian place with ubelieveable food. That is where I send or take all of our friends from out of town.

Less than $50? Lotus of Siam in Las Vegas. Thai food that has won huge amounts of awards (including being rated by Gourmet Magazine as Best Thai in the U.S.). Its incredible and believe it or not, its in a strip mall (Sahara Commercial Center). I love that place.
