I just started a new job about a month ago. I was just informed that we are having a company Gala. I have no idea what kind of dress to buy? Long, short? Prom looking? More casual? I have only had to dress up for my wedding, so I don't know much. Do i get my hair done? I really need some advice

Definately not Prom looking!!

Just wear a black skirt with a gold like color sleeveless top that has a buckle or some type of jewel on it and cover your shoulders with a pretty black sash. Wear pretty black shoes and put a side pin in your hair and light make up.

Find out where the event will be held first. If the place is formal and your event is in the evening, then the "little black dress" would be appropriate. If the gala is at a pizza place then jeans will be appropriate.

I was in a similar situation recently, though it pertained to suits and not dresses. I would highly suggest that you ask around the office. Find out from those that have been to similar events before what the usual attire is.

you should speak to some of the people you work with and see what they have worn in the past. if anything you can never go wrong with a black mid length dress that doesnt show off too much cleavage.

You need to find out what the invite states, formal, semi-formal or cocktail dresses. Formal is long, cocktail is short. Both types of dresses can be found at http://www.DeBoraRachelle.com

Ask your coworkers what the 'dress' is and go from there. You don't want to be too flashy, but you don't want to be "plainJaneVanilla"
