She wouldn't be able to take over right away, would she?

A young girl I assume ?

Help her in any way possible and encourage her that she can accomplish anything she wants if she sets her mind to it. Tell her not to ever ever accept someone else's opinion that she CAN'T be President. Make sure she goes to good college, and gets a law degree or degree in political history. Tell her to work hard and never give up hope. Tell her to study great women in history including modern day successful politicians like Jody Rell, Nancy Pelosi and Elizabeth Dole (wanted to pick both Dems and Repubs here). Tell her to read the books below.

I don't think the world is ready for a female president just yet. Women may have more rights in the U.S. but these were only recently gotten, in the last few decades. There's still debates here over males getting better pay, etc.

But you can't just think of our country. The president of the U.S. has to get along with foreign leaders, make deals with them, etc. A lot of foreign countries don't respect women as they do men and it would be hard to get them to deal with us.

Not to mention women are often moodier. They'll have PMS and decide today would be a good day to bomb someone.

Certainly she should be encouraged to go for it; just remember to always be well-rounded to appeal to the widest range of people. These skills are valuable in any arena.

I think it would be great. If Rice ran for prez, I would vote for her in a heartbeat. Just teach her not to be like Hilary or Pelozi!

She will have to wait until she's 35 years old, under the Constitution, but then, if she still wants to do it, she should go for it.

Just because she's a girl doesn't make her special. Same with Nancy and Hillary. Their policies stink, and they won't be good Presidents just because they are women. And we need a man to stand in the face of terror and say "Die, terrorists, die" like Bush.

It'd be good to see that as a change, but sure not Hilary Clinton.
