A lot of hockey guys/girls are superstious as far as pre game stuff is concerned. I was just wondering if any of you have any pre game rituals or superstitions that you do before, during or after the games?

Just curious...

I have two rituals one off-ice and one on-ice. The off-ice one is that I always put my skates on the same way left then right, tying the left one completely before putting the right one. On-Ice as I am skating on to the ice I tap my stick on the goalpost closest to me as I skate out. I started that when I was in juniors when a friend of mine who was a goalie passed away from cancer and it just makes me think that if I remember him, his spirit will always be a part of my game.

When I played I played goal, and I had a ton of rituals. I had to be the last person dressed, even if it was only putting my jersey on last. I put on my right skate first, left skate, right pad, left pad last. I left the locker room for the pregame talk (my coaches never got this) to stretch. I was first on the ice and stood by the door, where everyone had to hit me on the head with their sticks. At the goal, I hit the right post with my stick, left post, then the crossbar. I then cut up the ice, did the 5 point drill, and was ready to go.

Yeah, I had a lot of rituals.

this may be the best tip you ever get.... listen closely. after you tape and wax your stick and warm your gear up... go sit down in the can in the concession and take a nice, clean dump... it will lighten you for the game and give you some time to envision what your role is on the ice...

i have self assurance it truly is powder. He places it in his hands, & then throws it in the air to thrill the gang, & to get a extra useful grip on the ball. only how weight lifters use chalk to get a extra useful grip on the bar..!
