This is a natural process, your skin is just pushing off the top layer of old and dead cells (which happens to be where your tan is). What you need to do is to use a gentle daily exfoliator in the shower, this will prevent the spots from becoming so obvious. I would also consider using a self tanner that builds graudally, in lotion form that you can use daily to mask the shedding of these areas.

With sunless tanning products, you have to keep up with it all the time. The color does come off after a week or so because it is just STAINING your skin and not actually darkening the pigment that is already in your skin (this is done by the sun). When you are re-applying the sunless tanner, be careful that you are not going over the spots that are already colored too much or your coloring will look really uneven. Pay close attention to your toes, knees and ankles, as the product will build up in those areas. Also, make sure you wear gloves or wash the palms of your hands right after applying the product. You will have orange palms if you don't.
Happy sunless tanning! :)

Usually a good facial and or body scrub will help scrub away the residue of left over self tanning lotion. Also Clinique's facial astringent works as as a good exfoliate as well. I don't like any drug store self tanners I've tried. They ALWAYS look orange. I did try the Mystic tanning booth on it lightest setting and it gave me a beautiful glow. It did not look orange at all. I purchased they prep kit the night before my scheduled appointment. I followed the instructions and went in the next day. The key to getting sunless tanner to look good is Exfoliate, Exfoliate, Exfoliate!! I can't stress that enough! Also Moisturize really well after exfoliating. Also, moisturize everyday day after you sunless tanning session to help maintain the tan longer and cut down on blocheness.

Use the L'Oreal Sublime Bronze in Light/Medium lotion (the yellow bottle with orange top) ...Don't excersise because sweating will make all self-tanners streak. But, the loreal self0tanning lotion works muuuuch better and just comes up withotu streaking when ur sweating (tried it during tennis in florida in the summer....so i think i would know) lol but yeah try the lotion instead because it doesnt come off in blotches or anything.

Did you only put it on once? I would think you should put more on every now and then to keep the coverage even. Also, exfoliating is important.
