How do you turn off the phone's ringer in Sims 2?

I was wondering if someone could PLEASE tell me how to turn off the ringer for the phone. It's ringing nonstop and keeps interfering with everything I want the sims to do.
Please help!

There is a global hack on http://modthesims2.com where you can actually choose to turn down the ringer on your phone, or turn it off completely. :)

You can not turn off the phones ringer but what you can do is go into Buy mode and just delete it. Or another thing to try is hold down {Shift} and click. I have not tryed that yet but if you do the exact same thing on your Sim it will have a LOT of different choices.

You can actually turn off your Sim's free thought, so that if the phone rings, they won't automatically go for it. In fact, they won't do ANYTHING you don't directly tell them to do.
