As long as you have a decent nail bed, then you can have fake nails put on. Make sure you go to a reputable place to have your nails filled every 2 weeks. If you don't get them done every 2 weeks, your nails could break or you can get a fungus underneath.

There is no set length. Most places cut them down if you have to much length to your own nails. They then glue a tip on file that smooth and acrylic to them. Start out with your fake nails being a short workable length for you and grow into them. Most people don't realize your own natural nail is also square round not round. Meaning when you have them filed the tip should be squared off with rounded edges.

If your nails are not broken or biten to the quick you could get fake nails. Some salons will put them on any way but they won't stay.

They can be as short as possible. They glue the tip on to your nail about mid-way down, and go over it with an acrylic gel so it doesn't matter if your nails are long or bitten down to a nub. :)

Your nails don't have to be long at all....You have the option of leaving your nails the lenght they are or cutting them all off...As long as you have a nail bed your're good.

well if you put fake nails on you will ruin your real ones and then you wont have any nails at all because they will ruin them and they will fall off.

most of these answers are correct... i work in retail and ii swear by my white-tip acrylic nails. i have always found the shorter the natural nail, the more "grow out" time you have.

They don't have to be long at all they just put a tip on and go from there you decide on how long you want them and if you want them rounded or squared i always go for the squared.
