I have seen tons of celebrities wearing dark brown and very dark red. Chanel also has a very popular color that is almost black--its not just for goths! The very dark colors are suprisingly popular right now.
If you want something easier to apply and keep up with, go for a neutral shade a little lighter than your skin tone--very classy.

Dark, vampy colors on SHORT square nails look very modern. I would go with a dark red with maybe flecks of gold in it, or a wine color. Black is almost over, unfortunately. But the most important thing is the shape of the nails - they must be neat, clean, short and even. Long nails look creepy these days.

Depends on your age. I saw in a mag a couple weeks ago that the nudes are coming back in. But for me I stick to the classics which is a nice manicure with a french tip & REALLY high gloss clear top (the gel stuff works wonders!!!)

Try classics,peach tones,reds and pinks,and what seems to be really popular right now is darker purples,and any blue! Good luck!

Anything flys now a days. I guess I'd avoid greens/blues - those are too pre-teen goth, difiant, but really, anything goes! Hot pink is extra cute right now...

black right now is the most trendy, chanel black satin is great. chanel also makes one called vamp, its a reddish dark color that is just beautiful. darker colors are in. so is bright red.
