No. I think that it's because the U.S.A. has more freedoms than most other countries. In the United States, everybody knows that it's very easy to commit a crime, and better, get away with it. So a lot more people try.

For example, if I see two strangers standing on the sidewalk in front of my house holding bricks and looking at their watches, waiting for me to leave...the police can't do a thing about it. In most countries, the police could run them off or even arrest them for even acting suspiciously.

I can be in my house with dead bodies lying about, but I don't even have to open the door for a cop who has "a suspicion." He has to go through a long and tedious process to get permission from a judge to enter my house.

Granted...the silly and useless drug laws end up causing seemingly half of the population to end up in jail at one time or another.

I live in a Southern U.S. city with a population of over 1 million. I don't lock the doors on my house, nor my cars and have never had a crime committed against me...nor do I own a dog or a gun.

Even at JFK Airport in New York a few months ago, I had to leave a couple of suitcases on the curb for about 5 minutes till I found a cart. Nobody touched them...even the Security guys...much to my surprise.

Conversely, when I visit my in-laws who live in a small middle-to-upper-class town in the Netherlands, it's like visiting a bank vault. Everybody bolts their doors...even during the day and everybody's at home, they remove everything from their cars when they park, and never close their eyes on the train because their purse or packages will be ripped from their grip in a matter of seconds! Most Dutch people I know actually live moment-by-moment for fear of crime.

But simply, the more freedom you have, the more some are tempted to abuse it and take advantage of it. Nazi Germany and Saddam's Iraq had very little crime. I wonder why that was?

It would only be irony if you could show a link between the Christians and crime, actually.

A French prime minister once said that the USA was the only country in the world to go from a state of barbarism to a state of decadence without first going through a state of civilisation.

I don't think they are any less moral than us, but they do tend to use it in a more repressive way.

Your statement is incorrect. The USA has many "so called" Christians, that doesn't mean that everyone who says they are a Christian IS one.

Matt 15:8 They honor me with their lips, but their heart is far from me.

That's why so many people have a problem with the Church per se and not necessarily with Christianity. Because MOST of the people that profess to be Christians really are not. And that's why so many people see the "church" as being so bad, because what they see is usually people that really are not any different from non-believers, doing the same things, divorcing, murder, sexual immorality. Sad.

I think you have the wrong stadistics or me, in USA
But as far as I know is, that the crime is going up, islam is going up, others religions are going up too , like Indian religions, Dhali Lama ( religion ) , atheism has grown a lot the last few years.
Many christians are going far from their roots, many christians claim be not a christian but they think like christian , some they have high morals are their roots are christians, some they are just totally lost in bad habits , addictions , drugs specially in the big cities.
I dont know much about British .

i dont think there is a correlation btwn crime and christianity in the U.S. Crimes appear to be more rampant in the US cuz, a)guns are legal and easy to get, b)prostitution and marijuana is illegal, c)the media covers more crime in the US than other nations. For example, if a young child is missing or kidnapped in the US, there is nationwide amber alert, news coverage, news specials, talk shows, etc....but no one hears about the thousands of children sold into slavery in third world countries. In other words, the crime is there all over the world, the US just gets most of the media attention.

I don't think British people are particularly more moral, per se, but after watching Bowling for Columbine, I think I'd have to agree with Michael Moore that Americans (BIG generalisation, I know. Sorry!) are more scared than anybody else. (Except us South Africans. In a country with one fifth the population of the US, we STILL manage to beat them by almost 2:1 in the violent deaths stakes. Sigh...)

The US of @ss is no more than a PLANTATION CORPORATION! NOT A COUNTRY. Can be compared to Rome in its heyday. The more stupid and controlled people you have at the foundation, the more and further you can reach out.

A Plantation Corporation designed and created by the bank of England Before 1776 and of course after. A place where the inhabitants live in 'Blocks' for easy management, only 2 weeks holiday a year so you can't travel too far away, you pay for your health care, if you ask questions you are snitched on by your peers! Human Cows MOO-ING and GRAZING!!!

A place to be God fearing! Why fear God?
A place to be forgiving and Christian? But back up the president and attack anyone of any other faith that doesn't agree with you. Including your own people.

A place where being LIBERAL in the land of the FREE is a bad thing??? ALARM BELLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A country full of reality TV shows, as you watch REALITY unfolding from your armchair, in front of the TV watching the commercials thrust at you. BUY BUY WORK WORK SHOP SHOP EAT EAT DIET DIET SHOP SHOP!!!

This post won't last long but read it while you can! Be VERY Quick!

The crime rate is so high in the US because our legal system sucks. Criminals get a slap on the hand, then they're back out on the streets. Other countries tend to have tougher punishments for breaking the law.

Many Americans are not true Christians they are only Christian when it serves their interest...They never pray or give thanks for anything.......For some Americans it only takes a tragedy for them to be a little more humble eventually they'll go back the way they were...SAD BUT TRUE....British and Americans are very alike...
