96 Jeep Grand Cherokee problem?

Question

My belt is spuealing, and it pretty much only squeals when my defrost or a/c is on, when I dont work the compresser it doesnt squeal, does anyone know what is wrong?

Your bearings in your compressor may be going bad,but first replace the belt and while the belt is off see if it is easy or hard to turn the pully on the compressor.It should be fairly easy.Put the new belt on and if it still squeals then it may be the tensioner or the compressor.good luck
