nationalism unite a nation, multiculturalism divides a nation, military victories, a high wealth income, great marvels(Giza's Pyramids, Big Ben, Eiffel Tower....) a national and native language, ad the success of people of that country incentive the nationalism. High immigration, military defeats, foreign occupations, religious differences, inefficiency of the government, poverty, low literacy divide a nation. there is people who thinks multiculturalism help unify a nation, but that's no true, because these foreign people normally identify themselves as foreign and they don't care about other countries in much cases

Things like Terrorism, religion, peoples deep seeded beliefs in what is right and wrong can bring a nation together or pull one apart..We have several issues going on right now..ie..stem cells, abortion, removing prayer from schools, hate crimes, discrimination laws...Any of these can bring together OR divide a nation..ss
