Does a colder climate make a country tougher?

Is there a pattern here?

It makes people tougher to be in a tough envirnment. Take the eskimos, apache, Irish, Scots. I remember in school how the Indians in California had the easiest living by far before being enslaved by the Mexicans. the comments I read were how lazy and stupid they were. Contrast that with the Indians in the US NE who were extremely tought like the Mohawks

England did NOT always beat France. In fact, the Normans, from France, were the only people to sucessfully invade England. We call it the "Norman Conquest" or simply "The Conquest."

Look up William the Conqueror and 1066.

Oh, and BTW, the same year, before Harold Godewinson (the English King) was beaten by William (the Norman Duke), Harold beat Harald Hadrada, the King of Norway - south beating north.

And what about Rome conquering Gaul and Germania? I'd say that's a decided case of south beating north.

Your theory does leak a little water when you consider that the Netherlands were part of Spain under Charles V, and France beat Denmark and Norway in the Napoleonic Wars.

This is such an interesting question.....I have often thought about how climate influences human physiology; and perhaps not just physically, but also neurologically.
We know that body types have adjusted to climates:
shorter-stockier for cold climates (Eskimo), and longer-leaner for hot, dry climates (Aborigine) .
This does not make one physiologically adapted person more "advanced" than the other. It is simply an adaption to the surrounding environment and particular way of life.

countries that are farther from the equator however are usually healthier because the warmth all season around around the equator allows for more disease and health problems, which makes it tough to get capital and that makes it tough to gain money.

there are alot of time when the north beats the south, but it is because usually the north is financially better, because their infrastructure is not as weak needed to deal with as much problem as countries in the south does.

if you look today, if Canada invades the U.S who would win? If Russia invades China who would win? if Indonesia invades Australia who would win?
