snow: is pretty, but it means that it is cold and sucks to drive in
rain: can bring a beautiful lightning storm or a rainbow. Or in the cold months, it can put twinkling ice on the bare trees.

Snow, it doesn't get you wet as quickly. Nothing worse than going to work in the rain, getting wet, and being damp for most of the day.
