I do sometimes have mice in my house and I use the humane traps. For anyone who is interested, I've had great success with this particular humane trap in my house:
http://veganstore.com/index.html?stocknumber=266
It’s also available for $2 cheaper here (although I prefer to buy it from the other place since I’m not a big fan of PETA):
https://www.petacatalog.org/prodinfo.asp?number=HP200
I've caught over a dozen mice with it so far and it can be used over and over indefinitely. Or, you can try making the free homemade humane trap described here:
http://www.helpinganimals.com/wildlife_livingWithMice.asp
If you do live trap mice, please be sure to check the traps several times a day and release the mice promptly, approximately a mile away from your home. It is much more cruel to allow a mouse in a live trap to slowly starve to death than to kill it quickly with a snap trap. When you release the mice, do it in an area with some sheltering bushes or plants.
The absolute cruelest traps are glue traps. Mice have been known to gnaw off their own limbs and tear off their skin in an effort to escape, as they starve or dehydrate to death or suffocate in the glue. It can take three to five days for them to die. Poison isn't any better, as the mice die slowly and painfully from internal bleeding. It can take up to a week for them to die, and then they smell as they rot behind your walls.
It doesn't take much extra effort to be kind.

I love all animals and i believe they should be treated with respect... I remember as a little girl i saw a couple of mice in my uncle's house that were trapped in those horrible traps that glues them down or that snaps and traps a part of their body.. I used to try to set them free and will pull on their little fingers or head to get them out but i never could! I remember seeing their terrified face looking up at me or hearing them cry, It was just horrible!
Trap them humanly and set them free in a park, the woods or any other way... If they die out there at least you were not the one that created their pain and caused their death!

♥ WOW! Cat made a ♥ !!! Cat so excited! Cat couldn't do that on her other computer! Cat so happy.
Cat would catch the moose and play with it a while...then maybe chew it's head off and leave half for her person. Or use a trap, if she's feeling human that day. The humane ones are silly, if you use those, and just take mouse-boy outside and free him, he'll come back in. He came in for a reason!
yer welcome! Ü♥Ü♥ ooooo!

Old fashioned kind. I've never seen the humane ones at the store, plus they would probably cost more. I don't want the thing to get back in the house. I hate to set those old fashioned kind, cause they tend to try to snap your fingers, plus when they do get the mouse he's all crushed and bloody, or he's been in there too long and reeks. YUCK!! I just hope the cats catch them before they get in the house.

Well... if you call letting the cat play with it until it's dead humane, then YES! I would use humane traps, and set the remains free.

I would use a humane trap and then release them into a nearby field. If I see a spider I will trap it and release it outside. I can`t bring myself to kill anything.

I might set out a snap trap to break their necks if the cat doesn't catch them first. That's humane enough.

I use cats to trap mice...once there is a cat in the house there are no mice around. One roar from yours truly and they scurry...

Kill them all. If you set them free they will just come back.
I had a cat, it would kill them outside and leave their little bodies on the front step. In the house he would sit on a chair and watch them take food out of his dish and never chase them.
