My Mom was an abused woman all of my life. She endured so much mentally and physically at the hands of my father, only to find out that my father had been molesting me from age six to 14. We prosecuted him, and he served 9 years of his 18 year sentence. In those 9 years she took the time to divorce him, go to therapy, earn a Masters in Sociology, become a therapist specializing in abused children. My mom is amazing. Her story is not unique, but rather than use it as an excuse to let her life continue to be bad, she used it as a motivation to help others.

For as long as I can remember my mom stayed involved in my brothers and my life while growing up and even now. She attended all events and now is supportive of her grand kids the same way. She stands out because she has a pure heart with no standards. My mom extended our home to our friends whose moms did not have the time for them. So I thank God for such a strong, faithful, confident, intelligent, god-fearing mom.

I have the kind of mom that all your friends adopt when your kids. She's not afraid to tell it like it is. She'll praise you but she'll also tell you when you screwed up. She's the one all of my friends came to for advice or shelter. She'll give you anything she has if she knows it will make you happy. She loves unconditionally. ..... She's stubborn and hard headed at times. She doesn't think she's ever wrong (and don't be the one to try to tell her she is). ..... She acts like a little kid most of the time laughing and playing (she collects Happy Meal Toys and owns a PS2) which my kids love ... they call her Silly Grandma Janice.

Good with the Bad .... I love my Mom.

My mother is just the best. She makes sure she makes everyone happy. She works with small children and treats her grandchildren like they are on top of the world. I couldn't have asked for a better mother. My dad was abusive to her and when they finally divorced she never once spoke a bad thing about him, letting us make our own decisions about him. She lost a son 12 years ago and still held strong for the rest of her children. My mother has love like an ocean, peace like a river and joy like a mountain. she is #1 in my heart. if I was to ever lose her I would lose my best friend.

What makes my mom stick out... Well, I would have to say the fact that no matter what she will always love me. Even though she doesn't like most of my choices, she still supports me. She has been through so much in her life! I love her a lot!
