how about keeping it low key but inviting a lot of people. make it comfortable so that everyone loves it but make it wild enough that people arent bored

themed parties are really sort of old. try something casual.

games? any kind of "have you ever" kind of game makes everyone less tense... at least from the parties ive been to...

try to do something that reflects you. do a casual party if you are a casual guy. do a wild party if your wild. do whatever reflects your personality....

********okay, so, you rent out a box at the movies and go see a private viewing, or you could rent out an arcade kind of place. you could have a kind of movie marathon thing or rent a bunch of games and play them all night long. Anything sound good at all?

Significance: There are three significant birthdays in between a persons birth and turning thirty and as you know 16 is one of them. Though at 16 the only privilege you are given is the ability to have a car and drive it (there are many more restrictions now than there were ten years ago). 16 also bridges the gap between adolescence and sexual adulthood (usually 19 for boys). Both the ability to drive and developing sexuality represent your up soon to be independent life.

Ideas: If you are into cars a car show might be a great thing to bring a bunch of friends to then come back and have a movie night. Another really cool theme would be a monster party, specifically zombies. Have everyone come over dressed as a zombie and have extra material to make the guest that don't come as zombies leave as them. You can even have a cake that looks like a brain!

Summary: It's an important time of your life so, you may try something that represents that (cars) or not (zombies).

Advise: When playing truth or dare with your friends never make your friend give themselves a swirly... it will only come back to you.

I stopped having birthday partys when I was 8 years old.

How about a clown, and a pony ride. A clown can do a walk-around with twisting balloons.
