It's a marketing ploy. As with all 'special' or 'limited' editions, it makes you feel like you ought to get as much as you can before it gets taken away. Anything with a limit on it is more desirable. If it was permanently on the menu then people might think "I'll have one tomorrow or later"!!

Once it's gone it leaves you pining for it and therefore feeling emotionally in need of MacDonalds. When sales flag, they'll bring it back and then the cycle repeats itself!

Actually, they are permanently on the menu in parts of the country. Here in Michigan, there on the Menu all year round. However, I don't think we get the McRib or Mighty Wings anymore. (I sure did love those Mighty Wings).

They actually lose money on the sandwich because it's priced so low. It's only on the menu to get you to buy drinks and fries with it.

Actually I always thought they were an attempt to rival Burger King's Woppa, which I think is much nicer. Actually tastes of meat!

They were sooooooooo nice, but you can replicate the taste of the sauce they put in them by mixing mustard with mayo, and then adding a dash of ketchup, looks gross but tastes just like it. Just make them at home!

they create it lower back each and each time they choose a "resourceful" answer to take away the staff who fall into the deep fryers. in any different case, that's a promoting and marketing ploy to maintain you coming lower back to your crimson and yellow demigod.
