take lots of classes that specialize in the life sciences: Microbiology, Biology, Zoology, and even Botany are all very helpful to people who work at zoos. if you want to work with sea animals than you will need Marine Biology if you want to work with primates - there are sometimes classes taught in anthropology departments for primatology... good luck
Also try to get started soon on working at the zoo - even if it is just volunteering or working at a gift shop or food stand - you will learn a lot about how zoos function and what else you will need and your experience will play a huge part in getting a job in the future.

If you want to work at the zoo you could study zoology in college but you can also check a zoo near you to see if they have any programs. They may have volunteer and paying jobs at the zoo!

I'd go for a degree in general biology. While you're in college, try to get an internship at a zoo and see what area of zoo work you'd like to get into. You might eventually want to do vet school and specialize in exotic animals.

get a degree in biology, zoology, or wildlife studies. Most zoos DO require a degree to be a zookeeper nowadays. Start looking into internships, and see what type of a volunteer job your local zoo has. Check out this website for more info:
