Although I haven't done it in some time since there aren't many planes that fly over where I currently live, I used to.
There was one time I was moving into an apartment. I was making trips out to my vehicle to get stuff to take in. On one of the trips out, a helicopter was flying over fairly high in the air and I looked up and waved. A friend helping me move said, "I don't know why you did that because they can't see you". I just said, "Maybe, maybe not".
The next day I heard a helicopter flying above. I went out on my balcony and here was the helicopter hovering over my apartment building. So I waved again and the pilot waved back.
I realize I digressed here but thought it was a cool story anyway.

I used to too as a kid, but when I was travelling on the train out west, I noticed that in all the small towns, everyone waves as you go by, but you don't see that in the big cities, along the way, only in the small towns. But I liked it!

I can't believe I'm saying this, yes I still wave at airplanes and I'm 27 years old. I wave at helicopters, too!

Yes i did went i was a child. I used to think that the people on the airplanes could see me so that's why i used to do it.

i used to as a kid and when i was swimming in my pool i stuffed my bikini top with something and waved at the plane and my mom yelled at me. i was like 9..
