This one will be the straw that broke the camels back. This will not only embolden Iran but will tell N. Korea to just sit back and screw over the usa. What is wrong with the Dems? They are in effect weakening the US over their hate for Bush.

Serious answers please

Exactly!!! The terrorists know it too! How could the Dems be so short-sighted! When will they see that madmen hate us and are intent on destroying us? I don't think they ever will because when we are attacked again, they will do the only thing they know how which is to blame Bush and the conservatives. I know people get tired of war but if evil regimes are hell-bent on destroying us what other option do we have? We can't negociate with someone who WANTS us dead!!!

Question is flawed. The Congress is asking that the Bush administration come back to them for a re authorisation of the Use of Force resolution. They can't stop the C in C from conducting war if he perceives a threat to the USA.
Everyone needs to step back and take a deep breath. Its unhelpful when its insinuated by either side that they are less patriotic than the other or that they perceive Iran as a lesser threat. Lets examine some facts:
1.Given that some believe Bush lied to get us into a war in Iraq, using these same familiar " they will have a nuke" argument, shouldn't the American people expect their representatives to be cautious before buying the same story.
2.North Korea HAS a nuke.Using the threat logic who is more threatening to the US, Iran or N.Korea?
3. The war on two fronts . Is it advisable for the US to conduct another war against a way more dangerous enemy -larger country, closeness to vital shipping lanes, better trained army, more weapons and a population willing to die for their country.Short of nuking the whole country , how much more dangerous will the ME be for the US
4.Allies- Iran is sure to drag Israel into any conflict by attacking them if they are attacked, or attacking Sunni Saudi Arabia. Do we want to start WW III based on shoddy Intel and a warmongering leader?
5. Iran despite its bellicose leaders from Khomeini, to Ahamedinejad has never attacked anyone or any country since the 1979 revolution. Iraq invaded Iran with our help.
6. Iran's Persian people are the most pro-western of the ME countries but will surely rise to defend their motherland.Shouldn't we encourage the opposition to rid themselves from the Mullahs who are the real power in Iran.
7.Have we exhausted every diplomatic avenue before we committ our young troops to another conflict. Should a draft be instituted? If America is so threatened , then all Americans must sacrifice not just the same troops being sent there countless times.

I don't have the answers but to expect us to sit back and watch a discredited leader draw us into another war without asking tough questions is unAmerican and inhuman because there are real live millions affected by our decisions.Just ask the Iraqi's.

Haven't we learned anything from Iraq? Have you ever heard of diplomacy and effective policy making? If Bush "The Arrogant" had done this, we wouldn't be in the mess we are in, in Iraq. If the U.S. invades Iran, WW III will start and then what?

I think we have to wait and see. We have been doing this for 4 years now. Why not see if a fresh approach would bring something positive to the table?

Believe me I know Iran and Iraq is nooooo Iran.
We can be foolish if we want to. Our military
is already weakend by the Iraq war.
Let's fix the Iraqi debacle first.

All of you 'Yes let's go and do this, let's take Iran', why don't you go and do it?

How do you intend to conduct yet another war when we cannot even get out of Iraq? Where will the troops come from? Perhaps you should enlist to show your support.

I'm sorry. You are COMPLETELY misrepresenting what the democracts are trying to do. What they are saying is that Bush cannot attack Iran without Congressional authorization.

we deal with every nation individually, there is no need at this point to attack the Iranians, the Israelis will do that.
