Was the Broadway adaptation of Dreamgirls released on video?

I've seen the movie twice now and i cant get it out of my system, i loved it so much. I wasnt even born when the musical was on broadway in 1981, but i would really like to see it. Was it recorded and ever released on VHS? If so, it should be remastered and released on DVD now that the movie is such a hit.

I don't think so. I've never seen it. They have the soundtrack on CD.
