I I currently have 12 g earrings in my ears, and i want to eventually stretch it out to an 8g. im wondering if i should go down to a 10 g first, or if i could go right to 8. thanks.

If you are going to do it yourself then take an option, you can either wait until your ear is completly healed and the 12 gauge goes in easily so you can put the 8g in there (dont use a plug! use a taper or strecher hot topic has awesome ones) or you can change into a 10g as soon as you feel comfortable.
If you are too scared go to a piercing parlor, they can strech it even more.

Just get some tapers to go to an 8gg.
You won't have to hassle with buying tons of jewerly.
Or go see a piercer. They'll stretch them for you in one sitting in a couple minutes.
Tons less painful.
They might even be able to go to a 6gg if you want bigger.

I would definitly talk to a professional ear peircer or your Docter.
I think that if you do plan to stretch it out,your idea is the best way to go. Good luck!

you can go right to an 8 it would be to bad.... it will hurt a little though
