A large number of uneducated people without loyalty. I don't think that would help. I don't have a problem with service to the country being a way to gain quicker citizenship status but only for people who apply first and only come here when invited. I don't believe in rewarding or helping criminals by making their life easier. They should pay for their crimes not be paid for them.

Yes why not?... make them prove there loyalty to the united states and if they refuse to serve deport them immediately...The reasons why they come are not the issues at hand "they are here if they do not wish to be a part and parcel of the u.s. then they must leave for they are only the problem"... teach them English and train them to be troop it would work...were doing it in Iraq why not here?...who knows how they would act?... an action not taken is an opinion not judged!

It is a volunteer army and you must be on a legal visa working towards citizenship to enlist .
Why not open it up to anyone who wants to join the military to do so .Requirements is speaking English Capable of completing a basic training course in weapons handling and maintenance and when you can discharge the weapons given you . Allow them to become u.s.citizens after they complete there term of service .

Because they would not serve obediantly and would be poor soldiers. They're not AMericans, they have no loyalty to America what would be their incentive to risk their lives?
We need a draft. Americans should be doing the jobs of Americans, just like Iraqis should be doing the job of Iraqis.

They are not here illegally to become American citizens. So no. If they wanted to actually help America they, and some do, would follow the steps to citizenship.

Why don't we just take all of the guys in the state prisons and send them to Iraq? We can say, "Here is your cammies, your gun and your ammo. Just go wild, do everything you ever dreamed of. Shoot first ask questions later. If you come back alive you are pardoned."

illegals come for economic reasons. They don't love AMerica in the way you and your middle class friends do. You can always drop your profession to go serve. There is always time!

wait, you're not in the military because you went directly into a profession?
I thought people didn't just go into the military when they couldn't find another job. so what's your excuse? what's so important about this profession that you can't put it on hold and go fight the war you think is so important to win?
are you a coward? think about it. if you're not, you'd better consider enlisting.
