I have recently got my first job and am on my own for the first time. I went to the grocery store and during my purchases bought some cat litter and put it on the bottom of the cart.
When i checked out I forgot to tell them about the cat litter, and hence when i walked out of the store the alarm went off!! The manager pressed charges despite my repeated offerings to pay for the cat litter!!
He said "punk teenagers like you have to learn, stealing is wrong"

This guy has insulted me and mocked me, I need revenge, but I dunno what to do!?
does anyone know how to bring down a grocery store from the inside out??

Same thing happened to my cat when i sent her to buy cat litter. She got the death penalty. So i would suggest leaving the country. Probalby to mexico where stealing is a career not a cirme.

There is a difference between revenge and setting a record straight. Revenge is unwarranted, especially in a case a petty as this (although I'm sure as someone whose reputation is being slandered, you wouldn't consider it petty). I would suggest that you call the store manager's boss, IE, a district manager, and explain the situation. If the incident occurred as you described, then the fault also lies with the check-out person as much as with you. Be sure to point that out.

Furthermore, if the manager acted unprofessionally, I suggest you file a complaint with the store chain as well, perhaps while you are speaking with the district manager. More than likely, a reasonable person will decide that pursuing charges against you is more trouble than it's worth, especially given the lack of definitive proof of intent to steal (IE, concealment). Speaking from experience, a store manager who detains people needlessly won't be employed for long, especially in this litigious age we live in.

In a worst-case scenario, you might have to threaten litigation to get your point across. If your talks with higher-ups are fruitless, then talk to some local attorneys. You will probably find some that are willing to work on contingency.

Also, the local media might be interested in your story. Check with the local newspaper or television outlets. That tends to fix problems very quickly, once the threat of bad publicity begins to loom for a store chain.

Again, if your story is accurate, the store is just as much at fault for failing to ring up the cat litter. Drive that point home. Good luck.

Well.. while revenge is wrong and I would never recommend anything vengeful.... if someone was to accidentally take Epikak just prior to walking into the grocery store when it is extremely busy, and if that person was to keep moving around vomiting on key areas of the checkout and even management type employees... that would certainly be tragic and not a good thing to do.

You're best off to ask your buddy Chuck F. Answers.

You seem to be the sources for each other's "Best Answers".

Don't get me wrong, I'm not insulting or mocking you but boosting cat litter? Woah, that's low.

Wow! That's happened to me to, not the prosecution, but walking out the store with something left in the basket, overlooked. It would be difficult to prove intent, although, you repeatedly told him you would pay for it. You didn't state if you told him you forgot it was underneath the cart. My assumption is, if you intently chose to steal it, wouldn't you have tried to run? That manager should've given you the benefit of the doubt and not stereotype teenagers like that; very immature on his account.

You could try to sue for "false accusation", but that'd be difficult, and lawyers are assholes...greedy ones.

Don't even TRY to 'do anything' to get your revenge. It would be FAR BETTER FOR YOU to have the 'best revenge' of all by living your life in a way that makes everything he said about you into a TOTAL LIE. Think about it ... by exacting your 'revenge' physically, you are really telling him that he was 'right' about you ... by doing the exact opposite and simply living and being as good as possible, you show him to be the liar he is. AND SHOP AT ANOTHER STORE. 'Boycotts' start one person at a time.

If it was an honest mistake, the judge should believe you.

If you can prove that you're innocent, seek compensation for slander, and inform your local business association of your disapproval of their alleged acts.

That'll be a start.

Just remember that your focus shouldn't be on destroying them- that would be lowering yourself to a whole new level. You should set your sights on correcting them, and restoring your reputation to its original state.

Good luck mate.
