The song is about an upsurge in the UK shipbuilding industry, thanks to the Falklands war - a depressed industry was given a boost, but potentially at the cost of lives. Very thought-provoking.

Well it is cold outside. But your wife may be useful. Hmm... ask them for a scarf too. A new winter coat, a scarf and some shoes would be a good trade for your wife. The coat and shoes alone are a good offer but not quite worth enough for the trade to be worth it.
