Im weird like that... I happen to enjoy the company of upstarts and weirdos!
Thats why I worked in mental health for so long... at least until it started to make me nuts!
Dealing with your demons makes you a well rounded intellectually secure person.
There is however a king to their as*shole little clan... That King is my very own Father. He is Toxic to me and I haven't spoken to him in years. I do not like what he pulls out of my head or heart.
I suppose I have avoided dealing with that part of myself as a result of cutting him off but some things you just can't fix.
Choose your battles always... you know?

A few people appreciate having their emotions manipulated at someone else's discretion. I prefer to use my own discretion rather than be bothered by clowns at inconvenient times. When I want to have my emotions manipulated, I can turn on a comedy show or an intense movie.

There is only ONE thing that causes me to experience "difficult" emotions...being lied to. I feel that "liars" will usually have other character flaws as well, and will not waste my time with them.
So, thankful? Yes because they've saved me alot of time and energy that I would have wasted on them otherwise, and no...because you thank people who have done something good, and courageous and thoughtful.
I think "grateful" might be a better word for it.

After some time-yes. What doesn't kill us makes us stronger. But Hindsight is 20-20 and I have to be over it and through it before I realize that either 1) they were right 2) I learned a lesson from it or 3) both.

No. I ban them from my sight and hearing. I only want positive people around me and I fight hard to keep it that way. I tend toward depression and I don't need people who are going to make me feel bad.
