Yes, a trick I use myself. If it's a triangular tortilla chip, you could probably triple-dip and get away with it.

I do it all the time with nachos (in private), but I think if you are in public that it is considered bad etiquette, same goes with french fries in public-you're not suppose to double dip them either.
