i have phoenix motheboard with two USB ports. As i do have both mouse and keyboard of USB hub i don't have space to put my thumb drive in. So i bought new USB to PS/2 port connector for my mouse. But it doesn't work easily. I need to insert my Old mouse port in the ps/2 port and reboot the computer. After the old mouse begins to move i have to change the old mouse with new optical mouse without turning off. So in short....My mouse doesn't works while booting. As it is converted to ps/2 from USB. Do i need to configure bios. Please help me with procedure....

You need to get a USB hub. It has some 4 or more ports. Many PS/2 devices don't work well with adapters.

Those USB to PS2 convertor never work well. Return it (if you still have the receipt) and purchase a USB Hub instead. It will plug into one of the USB ports on your PC and give you 4 (or more depending on the model) USB ports. That way you can plug in everything and have ports left over. Are much more reliable that the USB/PS2 convertors.

The site I support purchased about 500 laptops with no PS2 ports, and rather than get USB mice and keyboards, got everybody convertors and continue to use the old equipment. None of them ever worked right. It was a nightmare....(LOL)
