The only thing you can do is hope they come back from the roots. Once cold damage is done it can't be repaired.

Generally speaking, yes. They are probably gone forever. However, some plants die back during cold weather and send up buds, or new growth in the spring(for instance grass and dandilions). There are some other plants as well. Depending on what kind of pot you have it in and how much soil you have for the roots. Contact a gargen center, or here is one website you might go to for help:

really depends on the plant and how serious the frost. I would take a wait and see attitude, don't be quick to dispatch them.

IT REALLY DEPENDS ON WHERE YOU LIVE AND WHAT KIND OF PLANTS YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT BUT I WOULD SAY I HAVE TO AGREE WITH EVERYONE WHO IS SAYING TO LEAVE THEM ALONE AND WAIT AND SEE--YOU NEVER KNOW-I'VE HAD PLANTS THAT I THOUGHT WERE GONERS TOO ESPECIALLY WHEN IT SNOWED, BUT WHEN THE SNOW WAS GONE AND THE SUN CAME OUT, THEY SPRUNG BACK TO LIFE SO DON'T CUT ANYTHING YET-SPRING IS A COMING--LOL

depends on what kind of plants and how serious they get froze bite. many of them will come back next season if they are perennial. if not perennial , bright them indoors and cut them to the green part, if they still have, keep them watered and see if new leaves came out.

It is wait and see at this point, but as one answer suggested to severally prune them, that would be a mistake. Leave them alone and once you see regrowth you will be able to tell what parts have received irreparable damage and need to be pruned.

you may be able to just cut them back but if the root system froze you might have to start over!!
