baking soda, spray water on the mark, add soda let stand for 3 min. the use a wash cloth and rub as if you had an eraser.

Try a regular pencil eraser, this may also leave a mark but glass cleaner will remove it.

You can, but you need to prep the steel with a binder paint that will stick to the metal and then you can paint on that binder. If you paint directly, there is a chance of it not sticking for too long.

Usually spit and the oils from your finger. When its gone, clean with your regular cleaner. Oils do the trick though.

I've used a variety of things. One that was not mentioned yet is glass cleaner.

id try a little WD40 and a rag then use soap to clean the oil up
