They should get their @ss spanked, but not be held 100% liable for her death. Anybody dumb enough to to what she did for an electronic game needs to be out of the gene pool.

Yes. Apparently someone phoned the station during the contest and told the radio people the dangers of the contest. The radio people admitted on air during the contest that they knew it was dangerous. The contest organizers knew at the time of the contest the woman was in difficulties.

I think they should be held partially accountable. They should have seen her distress and stopped her before it went too far. If bars are held accountable for drinking and driving, the radio station should be held accountable for allowing this woman to keep drinking the water. Waiver or not, a life has been lost, and her family deserves some resolve from it. But in the radio stations' defence, no one held her down and forced her to keep going. She made the choice herself.

CAN YOU PEOPLE GRASP THE CONCEPT OF PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY- because this stupid witch decided to gamble with her life 10 people have lost their jobs (2 who were just low level asst.) and the lawyers will get rich either defending the station or representinting the plaintiff or coming on TV as the EXPERT all paid of course. She had 3 children 11 months ,3 yrs and 11 yrs why was her stupid behind at a RADIOSTATION and not at home caring for her kids! She called her boss to say she was sick and going home ,then she called people crying and that was it -THEY HAVE HOSPITALS NOW, even in califonia!!! If my head hurts so bad I am crying ,and I am already driving ,you can bet yer you know what I am takin my but to the hospital!!!

I don't know when it became acceptable to place the blame on the shoulders of someone other than the individual who decided to go through with the stunt. This is why they have waivers and paragraphs explaining the danger of the stunts. If the value of your life is no more than a pair of tickets or some money then I suppose you're the idiot and the one to blame if something goes wrong... not the radio station. Call me crazy.

No..I do not think they should be held liable..
This person knowingly signed a consent and release form, knew the dangers, had many chances to win a prize without going past her safety limit..and she even continued on her own will and consumed more after feeling sick..
The only way I feel thy should be held liable is if they held her down and forced the quantity of water down her throat...
I think it is a shame that the DJ's are being investigated for manslaughter..if anything, it was a suicide that they did not prevent...NOT manslaughter...

yes. i also think a few years ago in a college town close to where the radio station is a frat boy died the same way so the surrounding community is outraged.
maybe the powers that be at the station should have done a little more research on the medical side effects of this stunt.
they are totally liable!

I dont think so...radio shows do dumb stuff like that everyday. If the woman felt sick, she should have stopped, nobody told her she had to keep going. But at the same time, you have to be sorry for her family and make somebody liable.

I think they should be held responsible for it, but nothing will happen to them because the contestant signed a release form before participating, releasing them of all liabilities. At the very least I think they should do something for her children.

Yes!!! they should have done some research on drinking that much water before they did it. Plus a nurse called them and warned them that this could happen. They blew her off.
