Physical abuse, in my book, because you can die.

But I don't think you should have to tolerate either one.

I would also have to say that they are both horrible, but they are interconnected; Emotional abuse often turns into physical abuse, whether it's by the abuser, or by the person being abused (like suicide in extreme cases). Physical abuse often comes with emotional abuse, as it usually comes from a loved one.

What's even worse is when physical and/or emotional abuse occur without protest or any form self-defense. If you know someone that is being abused, get them away from their abuser, or contact authorities to intervene!

I have had both physical and emotional abuse done to me.So I say the emotional abuse is worst. Why?Because I am healed of any physical marks ,but I am still carrying the emotional scars around with me today.

If someone physically abuses you - then there is emotional abuse there too as you don't come out of that not being emotionally hurt as well.

Both Scar and they scar for life. Abuse is abuse. NEVER is one better than the other.

Abuse of any sort is wrong.

violent physical abuse can leave you scarred for life on the outside and mentally on the inside so some may say both .... however , think of it like this , people with phobia´s are mentally scarred for life because of something that happened to them which was too terrifying for them to comprehend but did not physically harm them , so every time they see, touch, or think about this thing they will be in instant fear of whatever it is their phobia may be, forever . most can hide their emotional scars by pretending to be fine , It is physical abuse that causes most emotional disorders, and most emotional abuse often ends up with physical abuse

Both are horrible...i've experienced both...but i can assure you that emotional abuse is worse...because even when you are being physically abused, it is not the physical bruises that matter, it is the emotional scars that get left behind in your heart every time you are abused....

Both are wrong. Both are bad. The lasting effects of any abuse, whether physical, verbal or emotion can be equally devastating to a person.

Physcial abuse is worse, not in-and-of-itself, but because emotional abuse escalates to physical abuse, and physical abuse is manipulation and control, which ties to emotion. Physical abuse isn't just about bruises. It's about manipulation, control, and anything from bruises to being doused in gasoline and set on fire or death. That's a bad deal.

Physical abuse can leave you scarred on the outside, emotional abuse can leave you scarred on the inside.
