It is called a palindrome.

A palindrome is a word, phrase, number or other sequence of units that has the property of reading the same in either direction (the adjustment of punctuation and spaces between words is generally permitted). The word "palindrome" was coined from Greek roots Greek πάλιν (palin) "back" and δρóμος (dromos) "way, direction" by English writer Ben Jonson in the 1600s.

I didn't know tht this kind of words or phrases are called palindrome.I can only reassure u for the greek origin of this word.I used to hear it as palindromikos /palindromiki /palindromiko
and not palindromos /palindromi /palindromo =palindrome.

It is derrived from "palin" in ancient greek ('pali" in modern greek) which means "again" and "dromo" which means "road, way".So it is sth like it walks again.Ok I checked the dictionairy and here is a more explicative answer:It goes back to the point it started from.
Νίψον ανομήματα μη μόναν όψιν-Nipson anomimata mi monan opsin=wash your sins not just your face.
This is a real palindrome and I have posted it in an older answer of mine!

It's a palindrome. One of the most famous of all time was written by Napoleon Bonaparte after he was banished to the island of Elba in the Mediterranean. He came up with "Able was I ere I saw Elba".

'strap Eros on, no sore parts' ...it's a palindrome :)

And by the way...my name is Eros...I used the above once as my screen name on myspace :)

And PS--your palindrome is incorrect...double check it :)
