Hard call, FMA was good, real good. and the ending (not the movie) but the series ending was really nice. FMA had a lot of emotion driven behind it, you could feel somewhat attached to the characters. mainly because 51 eps.
Gantz was an adrenaline rush from the get go. Even so it had some characters you could also become attached to and had quite a bit of emotion behind it. But not as much as FMA. Also Gantz did become some what of a disappointment around the end of the series. It felt rushed.
So FMA is a better overall anime
while Gantz is a better action anime.
but anyways Gantz manga is a lot better than the anime series.

I like them both. It would be hard to say one is better than the other because they are so completely different.

i like gantz better, the girls are super duper hot. interesting plot too...
