You can love somebody that does not love you back. Why would you want to? We think it is easier than the heartbreak of breaking up. The reality is no one goes through this life without getting their heart broken. When we try to love some one more than we love ourselves that is when the pain sets in. We cannot make someone love us. We can only become obsessed with trying to get them to love us at the emotional beating up of ourselves. Acknowledge the pain of breaking up. Do whatever you need to cry at sad movies, walk around in your p.j.s Just don't stay there. Keep asking yourself What do I need to do to feel better. Once you realize that you can love you better than any person in the world can you wont cling to people when it is time to let go. After you do all of this celebrate how tough you are. Then you will understand that love doesn't die it's energy changes. Let those misplaced feelings toward this other person be directed toward yourself. Love is the most powerful force in the world. It makes you stronger. The letting go is what is giving you the pain.

After my divorce I met this guy and we dated for about 9 months and I was very much in love with him and he said he loved me, too. He showed it in every way, then one day out of the blue he said we couldn't be together anymore, he moved away and I NEVER heard from him again....THEN, I met my second husband! He IS THE most wonderful man, now I know what true love really is! Just wait for the right person! I never thought I could love again!

I know from first hand experience you can fall out of love. On the other hand I also know you can get the magic back with the same person that you've fallen out of love with. I have been married 50 yrs come April. I can tell you it hasn't been a bed of roses. A lot of heartache along the way, but you can preserve for the sake of the family. I'm glad I stuck it out, because my family is really close.

Yes you can fall out of love...and in time you will stop wanting this man so bad. Someone else will come into your life and it will be as if you have never loved before. Trust me...its not over for you as far as love goes. Not Yet!

first of all have you talked to this man and have you even asked him why he said it was over . maybe he said it out of anger and didn't mean it . If I can add a little I once did the same thing and really did wnat it to be over . but this lady used it as a reason to move on and never once asked me why or even talked . If you love him and you really have feelings for him then maybe that is what he is waiting to hear . instead of you just given up then that would mean your feelings are not true for him

You will be able to move on with time and heal from this. Yes real love is that way and you choose to love and who you love. Once you make that choice it is hard to get over and past it.... But like i said maybe with time you will be able to move on. I wish you the best.

You can fall in and out of love, yes. You will always remember this man, but unless you CHOOSE to be stuck in the past, you will move on eventually, and will fall in love with someone else.

I don't think that people can/does fall out of love it's just that they have taken so much stuff from their partner that they are tried of the bull that the partner has bough to the relationship and they just say that they don't love their mate any more when it's not true it's that they are tried of the cramp.

I agree with you on true love. Look at our grand parents, however I do believe there will come a time when your heart heals that you will start looking in that direction. God made a wonderfull thing when he made mans heart. It has the ability to keep loving. Someone will come along in time. When its right for you, you ll know it. Good luck and God bless
