There's this T-Shirt I saw that about sums this up:
"When I said gay I didn't mean happy".
It made me laugh.

The word 'gay' doesn't actually mean 'happy' ... it means 'light of heart' and the 'gays' I have known use that term for their homosexuality because it means the exact opposite of the treatment they get from most 'straight' people. It's a BAD JOKE that has gone on so long that now 'gay' means 'homosexual' and is rarely used to mean 'light of heart' when we're communicating with other people.

that seems logical doesnt it but people dont think about it like that and people really dont use gay as happy anymore unless their getting in trouble for saying lol.but good question it kinda makes y ou think

Nowadays, "gay" just means "tinkerbelle"....and "straight" just means "non-tinkerbelle".
