We are told its African but that would shatter Darwin's theory of evolution.

Mankind is said to have emerged from the Rift Valley (in Africa), but to call them African is to rely on artificially drawn up notions of countries/race. Such distinctions serve no value.
Mankind is one race - is that not clear to you?

I think the closest approximation would resemble an African as human existence is seen to originate in Africa.

None of the above! The concepts of Africa, Europe and China didn't exist until millions of years after man first walked the earth. The oldes human remains where found in Africa (Ethiopia I think) but the person whose remians where found wouldn't have even know what Africa is. Probabaly just his tribe name. If that.
Lecture over, I am boring myslef!!

Neither ! as Homo Sapien evolved, the continents that we know today didn`t exist as such
Land massaes were totally different back then, and take into account the movement of earth plates, who , in reality can define history with that amount of certain accuracy ?

i would say that humans first set about destroying the planet in the Sahara which is why it is dead , as humans do they move on once the damage is done , perhaps Africa was their first stop but whatever name you give that race simply changed as it spread so we all descend from ? Saharan's ?
