Don't pick a school on who you know that is there. Friends/boyfriends come and go, your education outweighs them both. With that said, goto NYU if you can afford it, Manhattan if not (I think it is cheaper?). A Spanish teacher will not make a lot right out of school, and if you have huge loans, you will be broke.

I have been in college admissions and administration for almost twenty five years and now operate the largest College Fair Company in the country

Academically NYU is a much better school, then Manhattan College but admission choices cannot be made on academics alone. Can you afford NYU? Do you want a school with a "real campus" (which Manhattan does have in the Riverdale section of the Bronx) or an urban campus like NYU? Do you want a Catholic Education (BTW Manhattan College is better academically then Fordham just not as well known and St Johns is likely better then both)? What do want to major in? NYU is great for business and the arts Manhattan is a solid Liberal Arts College with an outstanding Education Program.

Whatever you do NEVER EVER pick a college just because some one else goes there.

Definitely go to NYU it takes a lot to get into a school like that, and it will look good when your finished with whatever kind of degree your working for as a spanish teacher. I love NYC and I have never even heard of Manhattan University. Just stick with the university that will make you sound really smart if someone asks where do you go? It's extremely competitive to get into that school.

I don't think there is a Manhattan University. Do you mean Manhattan College -- which is a relatively small Catholic college in The Bronx (not in Manhattan at all)?

If you get into both schools -- go to NYU. NYU is one of the best universities in the US. It is highly selective. Manhattan College is not nearly as good a school. It is somewhat selective -- but if you want to go to a Catholic University in NYC, Fordham is a much better choice.

NYU is more well known. I'm from NY orignally and never heard o it Manhattan U. However prestige isn't the only reason u should go to the school. My decision would be based off of how much finanical aid I recieve. If NYU is more expensive, for example, do you think the difference is worth it? Also, which schools campus culture do u enjoy more?

It depends where you get in... NYU is an excellent school but it requires a high GPA and SAT scores.
