Lord of the Rings, not exactly an all romance movie but you have some kick butt battle scenes and awesome graphics to go along with it. King Arthur is also a good one, Starwars Ep. 3 was the most romantic out of the 6, even though love lost in the end. What is more romantic than going out to battle against all the odds to protect the ones you love.

ummm.. I'm more of a fan of old classic books turned into movies or ones about the 1950s and older. Although, the books have a lot more detail .

The Cider House Rules
The Notebook
Pride and Prejudice( I know there's a newer version but there may also be an older classic movie version)
Titanic
Gone WIth the Wind ( haven't seen it but ppl told me it was good)
The King and I/Anna and the King ( well i liked it)
Breakfast at Tiffany's(didn't see it yet but heard it was good)
The Princess Bride(more of a comedy romance)
Beauty and the Beast(well if you like disney like me it's good)
Everafter(basically cinderella)
X-Men: The Last Stand(it's mostly not romance but if you see you'll know where the romance part comes in and it's mostly sad)
The Counte of Monte Cristo
Romeo and Juliet( classic and not the one with leonardo dicaprio)
Sweet November(keanu reeves-it's sad though)

My top 7 romantic movies. Oldies but goodies:

Moonstruck (Nicolas Cage, Cher)
Walking on clouds (Keanu Reeves)
When Harry met Sally (Billy Crystal, Meg Ryan)
Forget Paris (Billy Crystal, Debra Winger)
Notting Hill (Julia Roberts, Hugh Grant)
Used People (Shirley McClain, Marcello Mastroniani)
White Castle (Susan Sarandon)

I don't like the newer ones either, I think that they are boring and with re-heated scripts.
I liked the Notebook and the Lake House, but they don't come even close to be as to be as good as the ones I mentioned above.

Good luck

the notebook was a great romantic movie. I also liked a movie made in the 90s called the cutting edge. Titanic was also a great one.

I enjoyed Shopgirl with Claire Danes and Steve Martin--it had the feel of old Hollywood with out being extremely sappy.

Bridges Over Madison County & Out Of Africa, both with Meryl Streep, are funny, intelligent, and romantic.
