im going through the same thing, you want to be friends but worried that youll fall for him again. my ex has a new gf and i tried being mates and seeing him regulally , but i started to fall for him , just talk in general with him and see how he responds, if he really wants you and you really think its good to give i another go, then go for it! good luck
