This is about the lady who died of water poisoning from the contest. The news said the dj's were warned more than once and even by a nurse that the stunt could be deadly. Due to their negligence, I think they should, but that is just my opinion.

Hard to say. Criminally negligent homicide? Maybe.

I suppose if they knew it was risky, and the public generally doesn't know that it's risky, maybe.

If a nurse told them that, then they should get sued for every penny they have and never work again. Civil suits are easier to win, and of course no one is forced to hire these people.

Again, the woman who died is not blameless - no one forced her to do this and she did a stupid thing - but she paid a very heavy price, and again it is not generally known that people can die like this.

I didn't know it. I drink a lot of water, soda (diet - I hate the sugary ones) and beer, sometimes a lot in one sitting, and I'm still here!

Interesting question!

I don't think that signing a waiver is good enough to protect those people. I think that if this lady's family push it, they can win against this, signed paper or not. Promoting an unsafe competition.

From what I've read, these DJs were sitting there laughing about it, even after being warned. Instead of sitting there and laughing, WHY didn't someone at least check out on a medical website or somewhere?

Negligent homicide, certainly. What does that carry? 10 - 20 years? They deserve it.

Unfortunately, the DJ's and the radio station need to be prosecuted to set an example for all of the OTHER ridiculous contests out there. I'm amazed no one has died on Fear Factor or Survivor doing far more than drinking a ton of water...

She agreed to the contest , and I think she was negligence by not looking at what it could do to her before she did the contest . "per say" someone said I would give you $50 if you drive your car 150mph and you go and do it put die . no one made you do it ,but yourself .same for her . and for what ? in my eyes nothing! its sad for the kids ,but I feel she was negligence in not looking into what she was doing .now others want the the radio DJ's to pay for Her negligence. People need to be responsible for their acts and not keep looking to other to pay them for acting negligence.

You mean they're not?

Guilty of manslaughter if they knowingly ( and if they were told by anyone qualified to cease the action) encouraged someone to do something to themsleves that resulted in death.
Morons like these need to be sent a clear message and have their stupid antics vetted befie they are put into practice. Anyone recall the Jerry Springer show fiasco over the two homosexuals? That cost the show millions in legal fees and compensation.

obviously, they never intended for something like that to happen, but they were warned it was a possibility and they chose to go on with it. but the lady did sign a waver and compete on her own free will. i could not imagine what the family must feel like. those poor boys. they definitely deserve big time compensation, but i wouldn't say the DJ are criminals. none the less, no amount will bring closure to something like that.
ill pray for that family

no she was an adult and people need to be responsible for what they choose to partake in....she should have read up on this before doing it,really read the waiver about it and maybe just waited till those stupid gaming systems were available for purchase and bought one....and no they should not face charges, all that will happen is the family will sue,the station will settle and not admit anything

sure they ought to face criminal prosecution in the journey that they are doing that even as they are pregnant. also, i imagine that father and mom who smoke ought to provide up or make each attempt plausible to save their youthful babies from having to respire in the 2d hand smoke. they could in reality smoke outdoors of the homestead or motor vehicle and dont sit down the position their 2d hand smoke is blowing at their babies(or everyone else for that count number). in reality, all mom and father ought to love their babies better than they love their addictions.

Most likely they had every contestant sign a waiver brfore participating. if they were smart and did that, there is nothing that can be done to them. If not they may actually get summons to court.

Being charged with manslaughter would send a message to all the 'shock' jocks. You just cannot act irresponsibly without being held accountable for it.
