Everything we say is subjective so what ever is being said is from the viewpoint of the person saying it. Essentially there is nothing absolutely right or wrong but the intention behind an act determines whether it is right or wrong. Religions seem to ignore that fact and that promotes so many confusions in the world. The usefulness of religions seem to have exhausted in modern times.

I think ultimately it's the value system you grow up with, the people you look to for guidance, for example, and the "golden rule" of "do unto others as you want them to do unto you" is one of teh most successful philosophies for forming a peaceful and prosperous society. Human nature doesn't really change, every evil or virtue of humans in the oldest records or legends show we havn't changed much, we just have cooler "toys", better/efficient ways of doing things, and unfortunatly this means the capacity to kill a lot more people a lot easier. I think humans are basically anti-social and make "moral rules" or "religions" in order to keep the peace, but anthropologist figure that the most reliable social structures number about 150 persons at most, and that weherever ancient man struggled for survival, this seems to have been the most successful "clans" or "villages". It's the desire for a different value system or religion/morality, that inevitably causes conflicts. So even those who blame religion for causing wars, are only trying to impose a different moral code no matter what they call it, so, we are universally screwed as far as real "peace" is concerned, until someone developes a weapon that causes complete human extinction, in which case I prefer the status qou.

Ones judgment of right and wrong is based on his experience in his life. I believe that one mans food may be another mans poison. At the same time an individual's experience is not alien from the society he lives in, so the norms of the society he lives in influences him at the time of the experience and that in turn determines what is right or wrong for him. Even though a man has the freedom to say what is wrong or right for him society as a whole has the authority to determine in the broader sense.

Societies development. I'll be honest... i dont know who originally said it was wrong to kill. Yes most people will say it was god. Rubbish... I would say it was the first person in the highest position in societies hierarchy to think to himself: 'I dont think i would want to be killed, it may not be right to end someone elses life as well". Thus became a socially accepted view. That view was then passed on from parents to children. Children would then pass it on to thier children. I would just say... 'the evoloution of society' made it so.

it is the society that you live in dictates what is good or bad or wrong and what is right.
the history that we have or you study in school are the history written by the ruling class in your society.(even if it isn't so)
whoever has the power at the moment controls the economic, poltical even the socio-cultural aspect of life of every citizen.

I feel that what determines our own character is the morals we were raised with.Hence background nurturing and caring about ones own self.Who judges you?Yourself ?Others?I can tell you that I do things because it makes me feel one way or another.Want happy, have to find out what will make you feel that ways same goes for right and wrong. And truth is only you can be that judge.
