Open up your Physics book

F = qE + qV X B where X is the cross product. The electric field imparts a force to the partcle and if the particle is moving at velocity V, the magnetic field B accelerates it at a Force that is related to the velocity and mag filed. F, E, V and B are all vector quantities.
