Child Support?

I live in Arkansas, my son and his mother live in New York. I don't make a lot of money, and I pay child support like I am should. But, I am paying more in support / daycare than I take home myself. She has a new man whom I have met and think is a great guy. I am not a good father and I realize that. And, I just can't afford to pay the child support. She wants me to give up parental rights, how do I do that?

Instead of signing away rights, I would suggest checking into a Child Support Modification if you're not willing to sign away your rights. They'll review your income and be sure to let them know you're paying for daycare. It might help out the amount you pay for child support.

First and foremost, you need to know that terminating your parental rights does not mean you don't have to pay child support; the only way your child support obligation will be terminated will be if someone legally adopts the child.
Second, you should have a caseworker in Arkansas who can help you to modify the childe support obligation amount. If you don't have an opne, active IV-D child support case, contact your local child support enforcement office to open one. There is little or no cost to modify the order.

Even if you give up parental rights, you STILL have to pay the support- the only difference is you have NO SAY in where the child goes to school or lives or things of that nature...........Nice job by the way of trying to find a loophole on abandoning YOUR responsibilities!!! GOD JOB "DAD"!
