What effect does this have on horses?

They are poisonous for sure but I am not sure of the effect on livestock as no one I have ever heard of has been silly enough to let stock get near one. I suggest that you give your vet a call and ask them other wise do some Internet searches on poisonous plants and you may come up with something.

there are many plants and trees that are bad news for horses! any ones in particular that you are thinking of, as different ones have different effects??? sorry more details are needed
i suppose the biggy is ragwort! can take years to cause damage to the liver or kidneys, soz not that sure what organ!
