Because of Bush, his handling of the presidency cost his party the elections. If he would listen and not command, things would have been different. If the Iraq war had better progress and not some lame "stay the course" slogan, things would have been different.

Democrats didn't win because they're "so awesome", they were the lesser of two evils in this case. Something had to be done to restore order to our government, and putting the parties against each other just might do that.

Liberals, Conservatives, Democrats, Republicans, Independents, Green Party, Communist Party, etc....these are just labels...the fringe groups (read the extremes) are where the issues lie. Most people are moderates and tend to conservatism. The far right and far left are where the problems lie, not in the labeled party groups...

It wasn't so much the Democrats won its more so voting against the Republicans

The nation is more conservative then liberal. Like Heath Shuler the newly elected, pro tax cut, pro gun, pro life DEMOCRAT

Sometimes, people get fooled, especially if 1 side (liberals) has 90% of the press behind them. Propaganda works.
